Microneedling in Spanish Fork
Tiny channels.
A meaningful response.
A medical consultation determines whether this treatment—and the device’s authorized indication—is appropriate for you.
Microneedling uses a device fitted with fine needles to repeatedly create controlled punctures in the skin. This initiates a healing response and can support collagen production.1
The FDA has authorized specific microneedling devices for defined uses that include improving the appearance of facial acne scars, facial wrinkles and abdominal scars in patients age 22 and older. Authorization belongs to a specific device and indication—not to every microneedling product or marketing claim.1
At Revival, the plan starts with your skin: its current condition, pigment history, healing patterns, medications, previous procedures and the result you want to pursue.

Needle depth and treatment pattern are selected by the provider for the device, area and treatment goal.

Controlled microchannels initiate the skin’s wound-healing response rather than adding artificial volume.

Microneedling can be a medical procedure. Candidacy, device authorization, sterile technique and aftercare all matter.
Professional treatment, thoughtfully screened.
The FDA recommends choosing a trained healthcare provider, discussing benefits and risks, and confirming a new needle cartridge is used for every patient and every session.1

Tell your provider about bleeding or clotting disorders, blood thinners, immune suppression, uncontrolled diabetes, active infection or rash, cold sores, eczema, psoriasis, vitiligo, autoimmune disease, keloid history, isotretinoin use, recent tanning, pregnancy or breastfeeding, allergies, cancer treatment and other health conditions. Treatment may need to be postponed or avoided.1
What effects and risks are possible?
Common effects can include dryness, roughness, tightness, redness, itching, peeling, discomfort, burning, bruising, bleeding and crusting. Less common risks include pigment changes, facial lines, cold-sore reactivation, swollen lymph nodes, infection, and stinging with skincare products. Some effects can persist, and the desired result is not guaranteed.1
Microneedling versus RF microneedling
Traditional microneedling mechanically creates microchannels. RF microneedling also delivers radiofrequency energy that heats tissue and carries different risks. In October 2025, the FDA warned of reports of burns, scarring, fat loss, disfigurement and nerve damage with certain RF microneedling uses.4 Ask exactly which modality and device is proposed.
What about PRP or topical combinations?
The FDA states that microneedling devices are not authorized to deliver cosmetics, topical medications, vitamins, drugs or blood products such as PRP into the skin, and it has not reviewed the safety or effectiveness of these combinations. Discuss any proposed add-on separately with your medical provider.1

Ask us in person ↗ (opens in a new tab)What is microneedling?
Microneedling uses a device with fine needles to repeatedly create controlled punctures in the skin. The process initiates a healing response and supports collagen production.1
What concerns can microneedling address?
The FDA has authorized specific devices for defined uses including improving the appearance of facial acne scars, facial wrinkles and abdominal scars in adults age 22 and older. Device indications vary, and not every marketed concern has been reviewed by the FDA.1
How many microneedling sessions will I need?
Some people need more than one procedure. The number and spacing depend on the device, indication, treatment plan and how your skin responds; your provider will make an individualized recommendation.
When will I see results?
Change is gradual as collagen develops. The American Academy of Dermatology notes that improvement may appear within weeks while fuller results can take several months.3
Is there downtime after microneedling?
Downtime is often described as minimal, but redness or darkening, tightness, burning, swelling, dryness and peeling can occur and may last days or longer. Recovery varies with the person, device and treatment intensity.2
Can I wear makeup after microneedling?
Follow Revival’s specific aftercare instructions. The AAD advises waiting at least 24 hours before applying makeup, while individual device instructions or skin response may require a different interval.3
Is professional microneedling different from at-home rollers?
Yes. FDA-authorized medical microneedling devices are not cleared for over-the-counter sale. At-home products may be less effective and can cause infection, scarring or pigment changes if they penetrate or are misused.2
Is microneedling safe for every skin tone?
Microneedling is used across skin tones, but pigment changes are a known risk and some authorized devices were not studied in darker skin types. An experienced provider should evaluate pigment history and device labeling before treatment.1
Is microneedling the same as RF microneedling?
No. RF microneedling delivers heat-producing radiofrequency energy through needles; traditional microneedling does not. The modalities have different device indications and risk profiles.
