What is KYBELLA?
At Revival Aesthetics and Wellness, Shea Nielsen offers a revolutionary way to eliminate neck fat that may give you the appearance of a "double chin." Approved by the FDA, KYBELLA is the first injectable treatment for submental fat, which is typically caused by aging, genetics, or weight fluctuations. The active component in KYBELLA is a synthetically made version of deoxycholic acid that works to break down and absorb fat cells. Once it has been injected beneath the chin, you may see a visible reduction in fat. When the fat is removed, the cells do not regenerate so further treatment is not needed once you receive your desired results. To learn more, contact our office in Spanish Fork, UT.
What to Expect from KYBELLA
KYBELLA is completed in one of our treatment rooms and takes around 15 – 20 minutes. Since no general anesthesia is used, you will be able to leave our office as soon as you are comfortable and return to your normal routine. You may have short-term numbness, bruising, or swelling beneath your chin afterward; however, this shouldn't last longer than a couple of days. The results following this treatment will leave your neck looking tighter and sleeker, giving you a more defined facial profile. It's important to maintain a steady weight after your KYBELLA injections to prevent new pockets of fat from forming.

How much does KYBELLA cost?
Your costs for KYBELLA will depend on the number of sessions you need. During your initial consultation, a personalized treatment plan will be developed to work with your budget and goals. A member of our team will also review payment options with you in your consultation.
How does KYBELLA work?
The active ingredient in KYBELLA, deoxycholic acid, is designed to break down and destroy fat cells in the body. Once they are destroyed, these cells will not regenerate. Therefore, additional KYBELLA injections should not be necessary as soon as you have reached your desired outcome.
Can KYBELLA be used to treat other areas of the body?
Right now, KYBELLA can only be used to treat the upper neck. KYBELLA has been proven to effectively reduce the appearance of a double chin. KYBELLA hasn't been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for any other areas of the face or body.
Am I eligible for a KYBELLA treatment?
There are a few factors that could make you ineligible to receive a KYBELLA treatment. You must be at least 18 years old, not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you should not have an active infection in or around your neck. Before receiving treatment, you should share any health concerns and your medical history so they can decide if you may be at risk for an adverse reaction from the treatment.
How many treatment sessions will I need?
At your initial consultation, a personalized injection plan will be tailored to meet your goals. Most often, patients receive between 2 – 4 KYBELLA injections before achieving their goals. KYBELLA injections must also be made around 30 days apart. You shouldn't receive more than six treatments.
