WHAT IS PRP FOR JOINT TREATMENT?
Making use of the body’s natural healing abilities, platelet-rich plasma therapy is a common procedure that can help with arthritis, osteoarthritis, and other types of joint pain. PRP therapy at Revival Aesthetics and Wellness injects plasma extracted from your own blood into the affected joints in the body to treat inflammation, pain, and swelling. The plasma contains platelets and growth factors that encourage collagen and elastin generation, making it a highly effective treatment option. Shea Nielsen is delighted to provide PRP therapy to efficiently alleviate symptoms of arthritis. Reach out to our office in Spanish Fork, UT to further explore the perks of PRP for joint treatment.
HOW DOES PRP FOR JOINT TREATMENT WORK?
PRP treatments are minimally invasive procedures we are happy to administer in one of our private treatment rooms. When you’re relaxed, a portion of blood will be removed from your arm. This sample will be put into a centrifuge machine, which will separate the platelet-rich plasma. As soon as the PRP injection is prepared, we will carefully distribute the blood plasma into the affected joints. PRP therapy generally only takes up to 20 minutes based on the size of areas being cared for and includes very little downtime. Because PRP treatment utilizes your own blood, there is rarely any risk of an allergic reaction, providing a safe method for joint relief.
